Unplugged XLR

Rubén Vilagrand presents Unplugged XLR! This is the trick that he used to win at FISM.

After more than a decade of work, Rubén Vilagrand shares with the magic community a new and original update of his award winning Unplugged, this time, he presents us with a limited edition, specially designed for AUDIO!

What professional magician doesn't use a microphone or speaker in his show? Or maybe even an instrument? With Unplugged XLR you will be able to add a professional and original routine to your repertoire. Its possibilities are unlimited, and its quality meets the highest standards.

Basic effect:

First phase: Two 15 foot XLR cables are plugged together. The magician disconnects them to to show the separate cables, and then plugs them in again. He then slides the connectors down the cable about 6 feet away, where he then can unplug them again. You can even let it slide by gravity without touch the connector!

Second phase: The cable is plugged back in, and the connector is slid to a completely different spot on the cable where it can be unplugged once more.

Final phase: The magician twists the unplugged connector ends together, leaving the cable unplugged with ends dangling next to one another. Magically, the XLR plug ends come off the cable leaving him with a short cable with two ends and one long cable with no connectors. 

This is based on Pavel's famous walking knot trick, with a new prop that allows for brand new presentational ideas.
